A native Texan, Shawn D. Mechler has been helping individuals and families navigate their financial lives since beginning her career in financial services in 1993. Over more than three decades, her career has grown into a passion for helping people make thoughtful, informed decisions about their money - and understand how those decisions fit into the bigger picture of the lives they want to build.

As Owner and Director of Wealth Management and Planning at Positive Planning Wealth Advisors LLC, Shawn leads the firm’s financial planning and wealth management strategies and oversees the client experience. She specializes in comprehensive financial planning for individuals and families, retirement income planning, and planning for owners of closely held businesses.

For Shawn, financial planning is about much more than investments and numbers. Clients should understand not only what they are doing, but why they are doing it. Her approach is to bring together the many pieces of a client’s financial life - including investments, retirement income, taxes, insurance, estate planning considerations, family goals and business interests - into a coordinated strategy designed around the life they want to live.

Shawn is a strong client advocate who believes in asking the next question, digging into the details and helping clients work through complicated financial decisions. When appropriate, she works collaboratively with clients’ CPAs, estate planning attorneys and other professionals so the different parts of a financial plan work together rather than in isolation.

Many of Shawn’s client relationships have lasted for years or even decades, and increasingly extend across multiple generations of the same family. She values the opportunity to understand not only a client’s finances, but also the people, priorities and promises behind them. Whether a family is preparing for retirement, navigating a major life transition, building a business, planning an estate or helping the next generation, Shawn’s goal is to help them understand their choices and move forward with a clear strategy.

Shawn earned her degree from Texas Christian University and continued her education throughout her career, becoming a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and Chartered Financial Consultant®. She has passed the Series 6, 7, 63 and 65 securities examinations and is a Registered Representative and Investment Adviser Representative through Cetera. She is also licensed to offer insurance products.

In 2024, after more than 30 years in financial services, Shawn established Positive Planning Wealth Advisors LLC. Creating her own firm gave her the opportunity to build a practice around the things she believes matter most: putting clients first, maintaining long-term relationships, coordinating the many areas of their financial lives and continually improving the way the firm serves them.

The name Positive Planning Wealth Advisors is personal to Shawn. Growing up, she learned to look for the positive side of a situation - a mindset that has stayed with her throughout her life and career. “Positive Planning” brings together that outlook with the planning work she does every day with clients. For Shawn, being positive does not mean ignoring challenges or difficult decisions. It means facing them thoughtfully, asking the right questions, looking for opportunities and creating a plan for how to move forward.

Outside the office, Shawn enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, traveling, creating family traditions and finding just about any excuse for a good decorating project. Those who know her well also know that when it comes to holiday decorating - particularly Halloween - “a few decorations” can quickly turn into a full-scale production.

After more than 30 years in financial services, what Shawn loves most has not changed: the relationships. Being the person clients call when life changes, when a decision feels complicated or when their family needs guidance is a responsibility she values deeply. For Shawn, the most rewarding part of financial planning is helping people move from “What should we do?” to “We have a plan.”

Desiree.Ebhert@positiveplanningwa.com

Desiree joined Positive Planning Wealth Advisors LLC in September 2024, but her path into financial planning began several years earlier.

She started her career in financial services in 2018 at T. Rowe Price, where she helped clients with their 401(k) plans. It did not take long for her to recognize that money is rarely just about numbers. Financial decisions can be emotional, confusing, exciting and deeply personal - and that realization sparked her interest in financial education and helping people feel more comfortable with the choices in front of them.

At Positive Planning, Desiree provides administrative and operational support throughout the financial planning process. She assists with new client onboarding, prepares and organizes information for financial plans, and helps coordinate the many behind-the-scenes details that keep client service running smoothly. She enjoys taking processes that initially feel complicated, bringing organization and clarity to them, and helping ensure all the pieces come together.

Working alongside Shawn has reinforced one of Desiree's favorite lessons: it is important to understand not only what needs to happen, but why it matters. That mindset has become an important part of the way she approaches client service, problem-solving and her own continued professional development.

Desiree has passed the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 6 and Series 63 examinations and holds Colorado Life and Health insurance licenses. She earned her bachelor's degree in Human Resources in 2022 and continues to expand her financial planning knowledge with the long-term goal of becoming a financial advisor and CFP® professional.

She is particularly interested in behavioral finance and the very human reasons behind the financial choices people make - why people save, spend, avoid decisions, take risks or sometimes know exactly what they should do but still have difficulty doing it. That interest fits naturally with Positive Planning's emphasis on understanding the person behind the financial plan.

Outside the office, Desiree enjoys spending time with her husband, afternoon walks, Colorado's mountains, art festivals and farmers markets. She and her husband also share their home with three cats: Clancy, the sweetheart; Yevette, who makes sure her opinions are known; and Kelso, who provides the household with a healthy dose of orange-cat chaos.

Desiree's philosophy is pretty simple: keep learning, work hard, understand the why and help people whenever you can.

Kim.Vincent@positiveplanningwa.com

Kim joined Positive Planning Wealth Advisors LLC in June 2026, bringing several years of financial services experience—and plenty of travel stories—with her.

She began working in the financial industry in 2019 and continued building her career while earning her bachelor's degree in Human Resources in 2022. That combination of professional experience and a people-focused educational background has given Kim an appreciation for both the financial details that happen behind the scenes and the individuals and families those details ultimately affect.

At Positive Planning, Kim works as a Wealth Management Assistant, supporting the team and helping manage the day-to-day details that keep client service moving forward. She brings an organized, approachable style to her role and enjoys being part of a team where everyone works together toward the same goal: taking good care of the individuals and families the firm serves.

Originally from Missouri, Kim has always been close with her family, especially her two sisters. Family remains an important part of her life, along with her dog, Pepper, who has little trouble finding his way into the spotlight.

Kim also has a love for travel and new experiences. From 2024 into 2025, she spent a year exploring new places, experiencing different cultures and collecting plenty of stories along the way. After a year of adventure, she was ready for a new chapter and joined Shawn and the Positive Planning team in the summer of 2026.

Whether she is helping the team behind the scenes, planning her next trip, spending time with family or hanging out with Pepper, Kim brings a warm, easygoing personality, curiosity and a sense of adventure to everything she does.
